Announced a the same time as the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z, the new HTCSense.com service has gone live. This is despite the fact neither of the latest HTC offerings have actually been released yet.
HTCSense.com offers remote access to your phone in order to do a number of things, most of them only really being useful when you’ve lost your mobile. The services on offer are similar to those of Apple’s MobileMe with remote locking of your phone, remotely locating your device and displaying a lost and found message on screen all available through the HTCSense.com website.
Other nice touches include being able to remotely search text messages and the ability to erase data from your phone in case your information is at risk of getting into the wrong hands.
Here at Compare and Recycle we’re sure that over time HTCSense.com will become very popular as more phones begin to support it. HTCSense.com is a free service but so far is only available to HTC Desire HD and Desire Z with no sign of an update for older models, which is a shame for owners of recent phones such as the Desire and Wildfire.
